Uncanny Tales was a Canadian sci-fi pulp magazine that ran from November 1940 to September 1943. The term pulp comes from the cheap wood pulp paper the magazines were printed on. Before you poo-poo their pedigree, consider this: at the peak of their popularity in the 1920s-1940s, the most successful pulps could sell up to one million copies per issue. During the Great Depression, pulps were a main source of entertainment, along with jigsaw puzzles.
